Si le Soleil Répare

Renaud Herbin’s optical lens installation

This installation is based on the same optical lens installation than Renaud Herbin’s performance “Quelque chose s’attendrit”. Instead of one lens, there are six, creating six different kind of planet. As I used the cello as the main instrument in the performance, I kept it for the installation. I wanted to write a melody for each planet that they will play infinitely. The rythm of each melody is slightly different, so the rythmical pattern never stop to mutate. The music of each planet is played through a mono speaker installed under its projected image. Then this music of the cosmos changes when the listeners walk around, hearing the melody of the planets they are closer too.
